Who we are

We are a group of grad students and mentors who aim to create a “home away from home” for everyone from diverse backgrounds. Join us as we:

  • Explore big questions about life and faith

  • Connect through trips and social events

  • Grow with practical, helpful workshops and discussions

  • Discover Christianity and study the Bible together

We also know how hard grad school can be, so we’re here to help each other through life and grad school, and just have a lot of fun together!

International Graduate Student Ministry (IGSM) is a Registered Student Organization at UC Berkeley.

What We Do

Every week, you can find us enjoying spending time together, eating delicious home-cooked meals at homes, sharing our lives’ ups and downs, exploring deep questions of life and faith, and creating memories together. We have weekly bible studies 📖, church service ⛪︎, memorable trips and outings 🏞️, holiday celebrations 🎄, and Grad Student activities and hangout. We welcome you to join us!

  • IGSM Summer Hangout

    OPT Workshop for Grad Students!

    Are you preparing for the Oral Proficiency Test (OPT)? We can help.

    Our Ph.D. alumni have passed the OPT and have years of teaching experience. A licensed English teacher will help you improve your spoken English, and you will get practice to get ready for OPT. Sign up to practice for the test and get personalized feedback.

  • Sunday Worship Service

    We'll be meeting in Alameda at our church building for Sunday Service. Let us know if you want to join! Rides will be provided from Berkeley @ 11am
